"May all your placemats be on top . . . Happy New Year, Pete!"

During the final episode of "Fudge," a TV show that played on Saturday mornings in 1995, Fudge and his older brother, Peter, get stuck in an elevator as it strikes midnight on New Year's Eve. While I wasn't in an elevator when midnight struck, I was locked in a hallway by myself, having decided at 11:56:30 that I had enough time to go to the ladies room. The bathroom was down the hall from the office suite where we were celebrating, and--without my knowledge--the door to the suite locked behind me. After banging on it for about three minutes and calling cell phones of people within the suite, a security guard approached me in the hall saying, "I've been watching you on the camera and felt really bad for you." He let me back in, and a few of us had a fake countdown for me--though I couldn't convince Regis and the powers that be to drop the ball again . . . which is probably apropos, considering I had just dropped the ball myself. (Ha, ha--laugh at my bad joke!!!)

You can see some photos from the New Year's party here: photos. I didn't want to risk bringing my digital camera through the police blockades in Times Square, so these were taken with a disposable one. The party took place at Flipz's dad's office, literally kitty-corner to the ball-drop and about ten floors up.

Nell - That sounds/looks like an amazing place to get to watch the ball drop! Too bad about getting locked out, but at least you entertained that security guard... :)
