Oh, what a night.

If I were asked (or forced) to draw a graph of tonight, it would look like a capital "N." Tonight was our holiday party at work. It took place at the Rainbow Room on the 64th floor of the NBC building. I wasn't thrilled about going because I get overwhelmed in situations like that unless I have someone to lean on metaphorically. My outlook improved greatly when I won two round-trip tickets to anywhere in the Continental US, Mexico, or Canada in a raffle. It's been years since my mom's been on a vacation, so I think this will make a great Christmas present for her: I've never been to San Francisco, and I don't believe she has either.

The open bar lead to many, many, many drunk co-workers. One in particular kept trying to kiss me. He wandered off for good at one point, and--as I was leaving around 11:20 PM--I decided to call him to make sure he was okay. As my phone was ringing, he walked past me on the street. I yelled his name and--as he turned--noticed that the entire left side of his face was covered in blood. I spent the next three hours taking care of him (cleaning his face, talking him into an ambulance, etc.) and then at the hospital while he waited to get stitches.

Now, an "N" ends up, so . . . I managed to get his phone from him and after some tricky maneuvering called his roommate to let him know what was going on. Said roommate offered to come down to the hospital and take over. When I got off the phone, I said to my friend, "I really like your roommate." He said, "I knew you would." I said, "How did you know? Why?" "Because he's really attractive." "Um, I was talking on the phone with him. How would I know he's attractive?" Let's just say . . . he's attractive. When he walked into the hospital, I almost fell over. More (?) importantly, he was able to calm my friend who was fighting against getting stitches when I was "in charge."

So, now it's 2 AM, and I'm exhausted from all the "rass-a-lin" to get him into the ambulance and then to the hospital. Of course, the dancing in heels didn't help none, either.

Wow! What a crazy night! I'm glad you and your coworker are OK and that his roommate was such eye candy... Did the roommate get your number? :)

What a catastrophe! Consider your good samaritan act a sacrifice for those awesome plane tickets!
